The Fiscal Officer's Duties
The Ohio Revised Code 507.01 establishes the duties and responsibilities of the Fiscal Officer. The Fiscal Officer is elected to a four-year term that commences on the first day of April following the election.
The main responsibility of the Fiscal Officer is to manage the finances of the Township. This includes paying the bills, accounting for all financial transactions, following all the rules and regulations for appropriating and purchasing goods and services as needed by the Township.
The Fiscal Officer is also responsible for keeping past and current records of the Township that include a record of the Trustees' meetings, employee records, contracts, and other such related materials.
